Problem
DRG 022 contains only 16 cases in PAR 2008 (12 cases in Swedish KPP). There is only one diagnosis that leads to DRG 022 and that is I67.4 Hypertensiv encefalopati. Such a DRG has to be questioned.
Analysis by CPK
Medical wise I67.4 can fit in to DRG 016 (Ospecifika kärlsjukdomar i hjärnan, komplicerat) since this DRG include quite diverse diagnoses. Swedish KPP data, when comparing DRG 022 with DRG 016, do not show that such a move will make a big economical difference when it comes to reimbursement. See table below.
Suggestion by CPK
If Finnish and Norwegian numbers and costs in DRG 022 and DRG 016 are at the same level as in Sweden we suggest that I67.4 Hypertensiv encefalopati is grouped to DRG 016.

I67.4 is moved from diagnosis category 01M11 ‘Hypertensive encephalopathy’ to 01M07 ‘Nonspecific cerebrovascular disorders’
Rule 401D22 and DRG 22 are removed.
DRG change
Cases with I67.4 as principal dx are assigned to DRG 16-17.
