CPK ID 337

We had a patient with M24.4B (Recidivluxation/subluxation i axelled) that was operated NBH71 (Artroskopisk eller endoskopisk operation för recidiverande luxation eller instabilitet i humeroskapularled). Normally such a case is grouped to DRG 223 (Större operationer på skuldra/armbåge eller andra armoperationer med komplicerande bidiagnos) with the weight 1,3243. This patient, however, had also M65.3 (Trigger finger) which we operated, NDM49 (Klyvning av senskida i handled eller hand) in the same session. Then we got DRG 229 (Hand- och handledsoperationer utom på större leder, ej komplicerat) with the weight 0,8432. It must be wrong that an additional procedure results in a DRG with lesser weight.

Analysis by CPK

This is a hierarchy problem. The rules for DRG 223 in Drglogic must be placed higher up in the table.

The hierarchy for DRGs for surgery on the upper extremity has to be modified according to the weights. See the Swedish weights in the table below.

Export Network 2010-03-12

The meeting recommended accepting the proposal to move DRG 223 higher in the hierarchy before 408D24001 DRG 224.

Technical change

The rules for DRG 223 are moved above DRG 224 rule ORD 408D24001.

DRG change

DRG 223 will take preference to DRG 224,228 and 229.
