Expert Network 2009-02-26 - Change recommended
Board 2009-03-20 - Recommendation accepted
BACKGROUND
Excision of scar tissue as secondary treatment after burns is grouped to the CC DRG 442, whereas the correct grouping result should be 443. If skin grafting is also performed, this is not a problem since the grouping result then will be 439. We argue that an excision of scar tissue it self should not be regarded as a complicated case.
Proposal
Remove the rule for DRG 442 which groups cases within HDG 21 based upon PROCPR 21S08 and DGPROP 21X08 without any CC property. Alternately add CC condition to this rule. (Rule 421D08114 in NordDRG DRGL_2008_NOR Nor 08/04/24)
COMMENTS
Expert Network 2009-02-26
The meeting recommended to create a new rule with CC to DRG 442.
CHANGES
Technical changes
A copy of the current rule 421D08114 is added immediately after the current rule. The DRG in this new rule is changed to 443X.
In the current rule 421D08114 variable Compl is changed to 1.
DRG changes
Patients with late treatment of burn because of sequaelae are assigned to DRG 442 only when with CC property. Otherwise these patients are assigned to DRG 443.
