BACKGROUND
A testicular prosthesis is removed due to infection caused by the implant. Even if properly coded, the stay is grouped to DRG 477.

DGCAT of T83.6 should be changed from 11M99 to 12M03 (Inflammation of male reproductive system).
The resulting DRG will then be 339, 340 or 340O depending on age and length of stay.

The meeting recommended to change the dg.cat from 11M99 to 98M03. This problem can be found at the both sexes.

DRG changes
Cases with T83.6 are assigned in males to DRG 350X ‘Inflammation of the male reproductive system’ (MDC 12) and in females to DRG 368X ‘Infections, female reproductive system’ (MDC 13). Cases with OR-interventions are assigned to surgical DRG’s in MDC 12 and MDC 13 depending on the gender of the patient.
