Problem

The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (SOS) makes own definition tables parallel to the process at the Nordic Casemix Centre (NCC) and the current problem was discovered during routine comparison between SWE2014CC-SOS-PR02 (SOS version) and SWE2014PR0F (NCC version) in the autumn 2013.

During the updating process for NordDRG 2014 we noticed that some rows that previously (2012 and 2013) had been in the table Compl.excl. had been deleted in the NCC version. In the SOS version one row was incomplete.

Suggestion

NPK, Sweden – 2014-02-06

The following rows should be reinserted in the NCC version:

In the SOS version the following row:

shall be inserted instead of:

The changes are also specified in Suggestion CPK ID 538.xls.

This is part of the komplikation exclusion table differences that need to harmonized for the future process.

The question is, whether the listed conditions as principal diagnosis be complicated by secondary dx from the given categories. If the exclusions are removed this becomes possible. A diagnosis belonging to any complication category has allways that complication category as it's exclusion (so that double coding same condition cannot give assignment to CC/MCC DRG)

Ventricular tachycardias (I472) are a separate case from the CC exlclusion differences (see case #303).

B9770 belongs no more to the COMPL 18C11. The CC-exclusion is present in EST, ICE, LAT and SWE. I would think this is a remnant that couldl be removed from all versions.

K938 has currently CC-exlusion 08C03 'Complicated syphilis' as single code, which is obviously wrong. The codepair should have the property as proposed.

Concerning B9770 Marttis proposal is to either put it back to all national version or to take it out from all.
Meeting decision is to remove them all.
