In SWE J3700 ‘Chronic laryngitis’ and its subcodes belong to DGCAT 03M05 ‘Otitis media and upper respiratory infection’. In other versions the codes belong to DGCAT 03M08 ‘Other ear, nose, mouth and throat diagnoses’.

Chronic laryngitis is by definition not acute infection and thus the Swedish grouping seems not to be medically meaningful.

Technical change

Change DGCAT to 03M08 for all Swedish codes in the J3700 group.

DRG change

Assignment of cases with principal dx J3700 to 073/074 instead of 068/069/070 in SWE
