Merge of DRGs 169 and 169O

DRGs 169 (Mouth procedures w/o cc; Operationer i munhålan, ej komplicerat) and 169O (Mouth procedures, short therapy; Operationer i munhålan, kort vård) have very few cases (both five cases in 2013) and therefore we propose to merge them into one group. Despite the length of stay all cases matching the grouping rules of DRG 169 or 169O will be grouped in DRG 169.
The cost data support the proposal (see appendix 1).

The corresponding Swedish DRGs are C50N and C50O and we do not want to merge these groups. As a basic principle we don’t want to have the same DRG codes (on four digit level) for inpatients and outpatients. Besides, there is quite big difference in costs between C50N and C50O in Sweden.
