When we constructed the new conservative outpatient groups for NordDRG 2015 it was decided that ”läkarbesök vid sepsis” (doctor visits, septicemia) mustn’t have the age division that is present in the inpatient grouping logic, which is S10A/C/E for age >17 and S11N for age 0-17. The reason for not having the age division is that there are very few cases in the group 0-17 years.
By mistake we chose the code S10O for the new group. A principle in the Swedish DRG codes is that codes on three digit level shall have the same content and that is not fulfilled now. The S10 groups for inpatients are just for grown-ups while children are grouped to S11. The outpatient group is for both children and grown-ups and then neither S10 nor S11 is appropriate.
The present DRG S10O must be deleted and replaced by DRG S12O with the text ”Läkarbesök vid sepsis”. This change has to be done in the tables Drglogic and Drgnames.
This is a correction of an error and there is no need for an economic analysis.

NPK, Sweden 2016-02-04
We will do this correction in the Swedish version 2017 (planning version). No other versions will be affected.

DRG change
Cases that used to go to DRG S10O will instead be grouped to DRG S12O.
Technical change
DRG S10O is deleted and replaced by DRG S12O with the text ”Läkarbesök vid sepsis” in the table Drgnames. In the table Drglogic, the two present rules for DRG S10O are replaced by one new rule leading to DRG S12O. This rule is a copy of the rule with ORD 200D095500 but DRG is changed to S12O and ORD is changed to 200D095450. See “_Decision C632.xlsx_”.
