Problem
Assessment of ECG can be performed without contact with patient and these cases should be grouped to a DRG for administration of care. The procedures AF041 Långtids-EKG-registrering, bedömning (i) (Long term ECG, assessment) and AF024 Elektrokardiografi (EKG), 12 avledningar, standard, tolkning (i) (Electrocardiography, 12 lead, standard, assessment) should get the procpro 40V39 Administration of care, in order to be able to be grouped to the DRG Z63O Vårdadministrativa åtgärder utan patientkontakt (Administration of care without patient contact) when assessment has been performed without contact with a patient.

Analysis
National Board of Health and Welfare, Sweden – 2016-12-02
This a matter of medical description, economical analysis is not needed.

Suggestion
National Board of Health and Welfare, Sweden – 2016-12-02
We suggest that the procedure codes AF041 and AF024 get ProcPro 40V39

Decided changes
National Board of Health and Welfare, Sweden – 2016-12-02
Sweden wants this change to be introduced for the Swedish NordDRG 2018.

DRG change
After the change the procedure codes AF041 and AF024 can be grouped to DRG Z63O ‘Vårdadministrativa åtgärder utan patientkontakt’ if there are no codes for visit/contact with health care professionals.

Technical change
PROCPRO 40V39 is added to the procedures AF041 and AF024.

"Accepted as proposed. Affect only Swe.
Norway is about to invent new codes for this.and will write a case to forum about it. Currently reimbursement for these interventions in Norway is outside the DRG system, but the aim is to include them. Sweden is inerestend to hear ideas from Norway"

Technical changes for combined NordDRRG Com.
Swedish proposal gives the property to all codes linked to FX004. The codes form Denmark and Norway do not matter, but there are additional 3 codes in Sweden that get the property.
It is questionable, if this causes any problem. The codes may be used for the same situations and if they and handled similarly this is OK.
However, if this is not acceptable, a new NCSP+ code for the 'administrative' interventions is needed. It cannot be any of the current 'administrative' intervention codes, because the 'cardiac' properties need to be retained.

We want the changes as described in the original technical changes, concerning the procedure codes AF041 and AF024, but not any other procedure codes. The codes are selected because they are exclusively meant for assessment procedures. AF024 is not included in the NCC technical changes.

After discussion in Sweden, we have decided to change the NCSP+ mappings for the codes at issue. The result can be seen in the new version of technical changes.
These changes do not affect other versions of NorDRG than Swe.
In addition to the proposed changes, also the Swedish code AF029 'Heart frequency variablity analysis' will have the property 40V39.
The changes can be done after updating NCSP+.
