Sweden wants different properties than other physiotherapy codes to 3 specific codes.

The basic problem is that rehabilitation interventions are not classified properly in any of the NCSP-related national classifications. NCSP+ is mainly based on Finish version in this area because it is least detailed. New ICHI is going to improve this but it is not yet official.

DN007 ‘Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy‘, DV073 ‘Tactile massage’, QB007 ‘Massage’ are some type of massage (with physiotherapy) and shall have 40V54 ‘Sensory stimulation’.

DV081 ‘Heath therapy’, DN006 ‘Mobilization’, DN008 ‘Manipulation’, DN009 ‘Muscel streching’, QB011 ‘Physical therapy’, QD012 ‘Respiratory training’, QD015 ‘Training to cough’, QF001 ‘Pelvic floor training’ have been changed to 40V38 ‘Motor function training’ (without decision but for understandable reasons).

All mentioned codes have been linked to physiotherapy R4R110 ‘Physiotherapy’ and have had the property 40V54 (used by NordDRG Swe only). Because of the linkage all linked codes changed from 40V54 to 40V38.

Technical change
A new NCSP+ code R4R1AA ‘Physiotherapy with massage’ that will have the property 40V54 ‘Sensory stimulation’. DN007, DV073 and QB007 are linked to this new code and get 40V54.
R4R110 will keep the property 40V38.
DRG change
Outpatient with a RA41AA interventions will be assigned to DRG 931V/ X23R both as hospital outpatients as well as in primary care
Outpaitents with a R4R110 interventions will be assigned to DRG 925V/X23R and X57R (only Swe) in primary care

Thank you Martti for the explanations. As far as I can see it is OK in SWE version 2019 and there is no need for any changes in version 2020 so I think that we can close the case without further discussion on our next meeting.
