Case #252

Updated by Martti Virtanen over 7 years ago

National ID: CPK ID 536
Initiated: 2013-11-13
Initiator: NPK, Sweden

_The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (SOS) makes own definition tables parallel to the process at the Nordic Casemix Centre (NCC) and the current problem was discovered during routine comparison between SWE2014CC-SOS-PR02 (SOS version) and SWE2014PR0F (NCC version) in the autumn 2013._

During the updating process for NordDRG 2014 we noticed that L81 (Other disorders of pigmentation) and all the Swedish subcodes were on the exclusion list under the following compl values:

* 05C19 Major cardiac anomaly involving left ventricle
* 05C21 Congenital defect of pulmonary valve
* 05C22 Anomaly involvin right ventricle or cardiac valve (not aortic valve)
* 05C24 Congenital heart block
* 05C25 Coarctation or atresia of aorta or interrupted aortic arch
* 23C04 Combound anomalies

*NPK, Sweden – 2014-01-29*

This is obviously wrong. Cases with a principal diagnosis in chapter L81 can of course be complicated by heart diseases and congenital malformations. All codes beginning with L81 must be removed from the exclusion list. See +Suggestion CPK ID 536.xls+.

*Decided changes*

*Organization – yyyy-mm-dd*

National organizations may decide to introduce the change in their own version.
Otherwise the organization is NCC.

*DRG change*

Cases with a principal diagnosis code beginning with L81 and a secondary diagnosis with the property 05C19, 05C21, 05C22, 05C24, 05C25 or 23C04 that used to be grouped to a non-complicated DRG will instead be grouped to a complicated DRG (if it exists).

*Technical change*

Technical description in text format.
There must also be technical changes according to the NCC Excel template. This Excel file should be named “Decision” plus the ID of the case.
